The bachelor party has certainly come a long way since the days of cigars, strippers and card games. While the modern day bachelor party can certainly have all those things, these days, men are celebrating their final days of “freedom” with weekends in the mountains, golf tournaments and gentlemen’s getaways. Since most guests at such a soiree may not know each other, having some ideas for games and activities on hand will help break the ice and get the party rolling. Whether you’re hosting an evening of good clean fun or engaging in a little debauchery, these are the best bachelor party games to make sure your friends have as much fun as the groom-to-be.
Funny Story. Take turns telling the best, funniest and most embarrassing stories about the groom-to-be. This is a great way to get everyone to open up to each other and usually makes for some excellent entertainment with a side of embarrassment.
Two Truths and A Lie. This is one of the best bachelor party games because everyone ends up learning a lot about each other, making it a perfect ice breaker. Have each guest list one lie and two truths about himself. The person to his right must guess the lie. If they guess correctly, they get a point. The more outrageous “truths” that come out, the better!
Pin the Skirt on the Girl. Everyone knows Pin the Tail on the Donkey, so try this fun spin-off. It involves a cut-out poster of a pinup girl, some cut-out skirts and a blindfold. This game could prove to be a challenging and hilarious event for any guy that has had too much to drink. You can vary the articles of clothing that you want to pin onto the girl.
Banned Words. As each guest arrives, warn him that a few choice words are off limits for the night, such as wedding, beer, sex, and the bride’s name. Anyone caught using one of the banned words has to either take a drink or perform a silly dare.
Cards Against Humanity. If you’ve played the popular card game Apples to Apples, you’ll have no problem figuring out how to play Cards Against Humanity. It’s played the same way, except that the cards drawn a little naughtier and a whole lot more scandalous. This game is perfect for any party, but it’s one of the best bachelor party games because it works with any kind of group and dynamic.
Sevens. Have everyone go around in a circle and count up. The person starting the game says one, the next person says two…and so on. You cannot say seven or a multiple of seven or you have to drink. You also cannot say double digit number such as 11, 22, 33, etc…if it gets to your turn and the next number is a double digit number you say reverse and the order goes back the other way…anyone who messes up has to drink! You can use another number for this game as well.
Scavenger Hunt. Embarrass the bachelor by sending him on a wild scavenger hunt as you enjoy your night on the town. Make a list of things he must collect (a condom, a tampon, a chapstick) and things he must do (sing a solo karaoke jam, perform a lap dance on a lady). If you don’t want to actually keep the items, document them with your smart phone photos.
Card Games. Poker, Blackjack and other classic card games are perfect for a guys’ night in. Turn your bachelor party into a casino night complete with playing chips, an epic buffet, cigars and high end liquor. You can even create card-themed bachelor party invitations to tie to whole theme together.
Bachelor Party Foreign Exchange Program. Pretend that all the party guests are from a specific country. Choose the country beforehand and have all your buddies speak with an accent while out on the town. Tell any ladies you meet (in your accent) that you are from that country and only in the United States for a bachelor party. It is even better if you have one or a few of the guys who can actually speak a certain language in his native tongue so it is more believable. The bachelor party game comes in where the first guy to blow the cover and have a girl not believe them has to then do a dare or drink a shot. This is a fun game to play when out of town!
Bottle Caps. Have everyone sit in a circle. Each player places an open beer in front of them and a cap upside down on the beer. The players take turns throwing a cap a someone else’s beer. If you knock someone else’s cap off, they must take a drink. If you knock it off twice in a row, you make up a rule and a consequence for breaking the rule. If you knock it off three times, the person has to chug the beer. You keep going until you miss and it is the next persons turn. You are not allowed to adjust your cap on the beer. If you touch it you must drink. If you knock your own cap off, you must finish your beer.
Credit Card Roulette. This is one of the best bachelor games to play during a dinner out. It makes any meal into either a pricey or free affair. When the bill comes at the end of your meal, each person at the table throws their credit card into a hat. A designated dealer, typically the server, starts picking cards at random. The last card picked is responsible for covering the bill. To ensure this game is as stress-free as possible, make sure everyone is onboard before the meal begins… and be gentlemen and split the server’s tip while the sucker picks up the tab!
