Scavenger Hunt

This is a great game for people who want to show off their house and nursery. Print and cut out the scavenger hunt clues and hide them accordingly. Upon finding the last clue, the last location should have little prizes for all the players.

Baby Scavenger Hunt

Spit up and milk, down it goes, this item will always be filled with loads of clothes.

Shhh don’t wake the baby…all snuggled in and safe. It’s where I lay thee down to sleep.

Mommy needs one minute to herself, pull off that animated DVD from the shelf.

You’ll find me quite happy so fresh and clean when I go for a diaper change, that’s what I mean.

Time for a snack, let’s pull our the rack, and bake something lovely as a matter of fact.

It may be the only room in the house for some peace and quiet until they are mobile then don’t even try it.

It’s true there’s only one more clue, if you were tiny clean clothes, where would I put you?

laundry machine
changing table
baking rack cupboard or oven
baby’s dresser or baby’s closet

Ad Crazy

There are so many things that are marketed to moms and their new babies! Go through magazines or print ads from online. Be careful not to include any labels that tell what the product is. Then hold the pictures up for all the guests and let them guess what product the ad is for. A variation of this game is to compile a list of baby product tag lines and have the players guess the product or company name.

Baby Pictionary

This game is based upon the original Pictionary board game. Before the shower, place words relating to baby activities and items on small cards. (eg: Changing a diaper, giving birth, feeding time) At the shower, create teams and give each one a pad of paper and pencil. Let one member of the team see a card, then tell then to draw the word or phrase for their partners to guess. Use a timer or just play until someone guesses. When the time is up, the teams total up the number of words they have guessed correctly and the one who has the most wins a prize.

Sweet Memory Tester

This a fun game to play with a large group of people. It’s modeled after the traditional memory game in that you have to remember what word is where on the board. Start by creating a poster sized board with at least 15 baby related terms. Things like “breastfeeding”. epidural, and “dirty diapers”. Each word or phrase will be covered by a numbered square. The guests will go around and call out two numbers and hope for a match. The prize and the twist of the game are if you get a match you get a candy who’s name represents the word or phrase. For example, if the word was epidural and the player finds a match, they candy prize would be a roll or bag of life savers. If the clue was dirty diapers you could give tootsie rolls or milk duds as the prize. It’s a very fun game and will get the whole crowd laughing.

Stinky Diaper

This is a very hands on game. Take 6 or 7 diapers and the same number of different types of baby food. Number the diapers. Take a small portion of the baby food and smear it on the diaper. Each player must then guess what type of baby food is on the diaper. Don’t forget to make yourself an answer key!

What’s in the bag?

Take 12 lunch bags and label them 1 to 12. Fill them each one with a different baby item. Things like pacifiers, stuffed animal rattles, socks, mitts, bibs, teethers, baby lotion, or anything baby related! Then staple the bags shut. Set the bags out and provide the guests with paper and a pen. Let each guest feel, shake and smell the bags as they try to figure out what’s inside. Have a prize for the winner and the runner up!
